"In this debate that we have just won...

Today we had the 2 HELP debate teams come together for a little mock debate. The mock debate was for practice and on top of that to choose between whether we shud take Jun Horng or Pei Ni as a debater.

Some info:
We're sending 2 teams to the HELP debate. Therefore we both have different topics for our first debate but we both happen to be the opposition for both. Anywayz, we agreed that each team wud prepare for their own topic and make some one-liner contentions for the opposing team to impromptu and use.

First debate: (the one my team prepared for)

Shanmugam and I sat out on this debate so that we could see both Jun Horng and Pei Ni in the same debate and make a comparison.

Result: our team won, but it was a lousy debate, everything was so unprepared for and lousy. Jun Horng was good though. Pei Ni sucks.

The issue of kicking Pei Ni out of our team was pretty much decided on beforehand but this debate was our generousity giving her another chance to prove herself. But as proven after the first debate - SHE SUCKS. Put it this way, she was the first negative speaker and she didn't even rebutt the first affirmative speaker and brought in her contentions straighaway!!

Later on we gave her a little talk and explained that we were kicking her off the team. She has NO experience, NO speaking skills, NO debate whip. Her oni experience is some chinese debate she did in form 1 -_-

Anywayz one of our excuses for kicking her off the team was that she din put enuff effort into the team. Her excuse? "I am oni going for exposure". For goodness sakes woman, if ur not going to win that pretty much bags it for me!

So we kicked off th dead weight (the whole giant fat lot of it :p)

Note: I have nothing against the fact that pei ni is fat, its just such a nice joke =D *dead weight rofl*

2nd debate: (the one their team prepared for)

So this time, the speakers for my team was:
1st: Me
2nd: Shanmugam
3rd: Ivan Ng Heng Soon (we added him in just for fun ^^)
Note: Soon Heng and Heng Soon are 2 diff ppl

We had nothing. Their team was supposed to have prepared some arguments for us but they didn't, so....
We had only 15 minutes 2 prepare our debate and we only had evidence that we took from our general knowledge.

The result? WE WON!!! The opposition had lost eventhough we were debating THEIR topic. The fact that we won was so obvious because the opposition kept contradicting themselves and were unable to give a suitable rebuttal. It was so clear that towards the last speech, shanmugam and i were dancing in our seats LITERALLY! :p

Oh yea, Ivan's brilliant ending speech, "In this debate that we have just won..." :p
