HELP Debate was TODAY... sigh the whole thing was quite sad really, basically cuz WE LOST.
The topic we were meant to debate was "Developed nations should pay for environmental protection in the third world". And we as the negative...it was HARD.
The whole thing tho is that in terms of points and arguments we actually won the debate! the thing is the teacher said we weren't "influential" enuff, and yea i kinda agree that we all should have spoken a bit better, but the thing is, according to the marking slip, only 20% of the marks given are for presenting the speech. So we STILL should have won.
Victoria Institute also lost on their first debate, which is really quite wrong since their such a good team. I was talking to one of the teachers, and she was saying that they purposely put all the good teams on the negative side of that debate topic... well sigh HELp sucks, hehehe i think i'm a sore loser
